Circular Quay traditionally called Sydney Cove was the founding site for Sydney and Australia. It is adjacent to the histocial area called The Rocks, and on the other side; The Sydney Opera House. Circular Quay is a must see destination as it is a great place to start when touring Sydney as most attractions based around the harbour can either be walked to or reached by ferry or water taxi. The Quay is an ever moving place, with ferries leaving every few minutes to different destinations on Sydney Harbour. Kirribilli, Parramatta, Manly, Watsons Bay, Mosman and Taronga Park Zoo can all be reached from Circular Quay.

East of Circular Quay is a walkway that leads to the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Botanical Gardens. Walking wetwards will take you along landscaped walkways past the Museum of Contemporary Art and around under the Harbour Bridge and to The Rocks, one of the oldest, most interesting parts of Sydney.


Circular Quay is not only for Ferries, it also has a Train Station, and Buses. Circular Quay Train Station forms part of the underground City Circle , which can take you around the Sydney CBD. Alongside the ferry wharfs there are small outdoor cafes and landscaped walkways where you can view the harbour.
